The south coast of Australia that includes the Great Australian Bight, the vast sweep of adjoining inland country that is the Nullarbor Plain, and the surrounding woodlands and sandy mallee-covered deserts, is one of the least visited regions in Australia. From Port Augusta and Port Lincoln in the east, to Norseman and Esperance in the west, it offers a multitude of adventures for those wanting to get away from it all.

This comprehensive guide with 30 maps, hundreds of GPS waypoints and details on campsites, fishing spots, access details to beaches and other points of interest, along with details on the parks and reserves and the major 4WD tracks in the area, give you the perfect no-nonsense, indispensable planner for an exciting visit to the region.

Ron and Viv Moon have been travelling this southern coast of Australia and the adjoining inland plains and deserts since the late 1960s. In recent years they have taken on the challenge of following the cliffs and beaches between Esperance and Port Lincoln.

The places and areas comprehensively covered in this guidebook include Port Augusta, Gawler Ranges National Park (NP), Goog's Track, Port Lincoln NP, Coffin Bay NP, Elliston, Venus Bay, Port Kenny, Sceale Bay, Streaky Bay, Smoky Bay, Eyre Highway, Ceduna, Penong, Fowlers Bay, Nundroo, Yalata, Across the Nullarbor Plains, Head of Bight, Bunda Cliffs, Eucla, Old Telegraph Line, Baxter Cliffs, Toolina Cove, Norseman, Esperance East to Israelite Bay and Balladonia, Cape Le Grand and Cape Arid National Parks. Return to Moon Guidebooks

To Ron and Viv Moon,
I am just writing to thank you for your books.
At 57 and 60, my husband Ben and I are late converts to camping and have just come back from a 3 week drive from Melbourne to Kalgoorlie and back. We bought your book about 15 months ago at an expo in Melbourne and have been planning ever since.
We loved our trip and thanks to the book stopped at so many spots we would otherwise have missed.
We especially enjoyed camping on Prelubie Beach near Streaky bay, fishing in Coffin Bay national Park, camping at Fowler Bay Conservation area, enjoyed the caves near Cocklebiddy, the oysters at Smoky bay,( and the Razor fish too), the self drive Dundas Coach Road Heritage trail near Norseman, the amazing Cape Le Grande National Park, and more. We know there is so much more to see and are looking forward to going again but for a longer time once we retire.
I was the object of amusement from other (older ) travelers who all used Wiki Camps, but I found the book a great Companion to our maps and Wiki Camps app.
I have your cook book too and we were amazed at how inexpensive the trip was due to forward planning our food. Only ate out once and had takeaway once ...
We are planning the Kimberley for next year so I will go to your site and order that book now.
Thanks Ron and Viv for sharing your knowledge.
Dorothy Koole
